Days of Caring - Invest Your Time

Invest in your community and get involved in United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley’s 13th Annual “Days of Caring”. “Days of Caring” unites volunteers throughout Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties to provide hands-on service to regional non-profit projects.

This year’s event is being coordinated by the Volunteer and Mentor Center, a program of the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, and will run August 18-23. Individuals, as well as company teams, are encouraged to sign-up and volunteer their time and talent. Volunteers will be matched to a local non-profit project.

Last year, 450 volunteers provided much needed assistance including landscaping, painting, preparing meals for at-risk teens, and rebuilding park trails for public use.

“This is an incredible opportunity to make an impact in our community. Not only will participants provide much needed service, but they will learn more about non-profits and see firsthand the difference they make in our community,” said Mikki Trowbridge, director of the Volunteer and Mentor Center.

Days of Caring also marks the beginning of the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley’s annual campaign. Each year United Way works with companies and agencies throughout Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties to invest in targeted programs that make a lasting impact in our community.

The Volunteer and Mentor Center is still accepting project proposals from agencies that have special projects, but lack the people resources to get them completed. Interested agencies can submit their proposals online at http://www.givebacktoday.org, select the “Special Events” menu. Individuals and company teams interested in volunteering can also sign up online.
