Supporting a Permanent Home for the Community Resource Center

The Community Resource Center (CRC), operated by United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, is a vital regional hub that strengthens nonprofits, schools, and faith-based organizations across Marion and Polk counties. Through partnerships with major retailers and as part of the national Good360 network, the CRC redistributes new, unused donated goods—keeping valuable items out of landfills and placing them directly into the hands of organizations serving our most vulnerable neighbors.

More than 75 local organizations rely on the CRC to fulfill their missions. In 2025 alone, the program distributed over $15 million in goods, supporting services that reached more than 270,000 people in our communities. Demand for this program continues to grow, but the CRC has outgrown its current facility and is now being forced to turn away donations due to limited space.

United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley has a unique and time-limited opportunity to secure a permanent, appropriately sized home for the CRC by purchasing the building being vacated by Marion Polk Food Share. The property is available at below-market value for $4 million, with purchase required in 2026. UWMWV has committed to raising $2 million locally, including through the sale of its current administrative building, and is seeking a $2 million state funding match to make this vision possible.

This one-time investment will strengthen nonprofit infrastructure, expand access to essential goods, reduce waste, and ensure long-term benefits for Marion and Polk counties.
